Darian Baskatawang

Darian is a student at Queen’s University, working towards a Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) in Political Studies and a Certificate in Law from the Queen’s School of Law. A recipient of the Ontario Lieutenant-Governor’s Lincoln M. Alexander Award and nominee for the Order of Ontario, Darian works hard to ensure that everyone has the possibility to achieve their full potential. As an academic, Darian uses Indigenous methodologies when possible, allowing him to develop both personally and professionally while he strives to understand the world around him.

Through his experience, he has developed a passion to help those in need, and to give back to the community at every opportunity possible. Over the years, Darian has been introduced to many different Government organizations and Non-Governmental Organizations that share the same passion as him to encourage the First Nations, Métis and Inuit youth to achieve their full potential.

In the future, he hopes to continue to create impact within organizations and society after his achievement of a Master’s of Public Administration/Juris Doctor double degree, followed by a Doctorate in Public Policy Studies.
